Is Vista not Back Compatible with software that ran quite smoothly on 95,
98, 2000, et alia?

DSH

Why would anyone STILL be using Windows 3.1 programs on a Pentium-class machine?
It was created for 486 machines running DOS.

It's time for them both to die forever..

I've thought for a while that you might just be a troll but this post has
confirmed it.
What does this have to do with microsoft.public.windowsxp.customize?

Richard, the entire Windows world is in kind of an interregnum right now..Most
users are still using W98 of some kind, and have no firm intentions of upgrading
to Vista, because it entails upgrading their hardware AND software, and come in
here to "stick their toes in the water" to see how Vista is being received. The
others have already made the change, but still have emotional ties to earlier
versions of Windows.

Mostly only the second group know about the Vista newsgroups, but still...

**** off back to XP then. See ya.

Or join the OS X crowd, where they will have to buy not only a few
hardware/software upgrades, but an ENTIRELY new machine, PLUS entirely new
software.
