Vista and XP Service Pack II

This is a variation of what gets asked here periodically.

My web site was developed on XP using FP2003. I maintain it on my
home computer and publish it to my remote site. I recently got a new
notebook which of course has Vista. Since it doens't have the front
page extensions, I can't really work on the site on the notebook.

From reading here, I need to publish the remote site to my home system
and then begin updating it. Bearing in mind that the home system is
XP, will that work OK? Will doing this allow me to also update a copy
of the site on my Vista notebook?

The hyperlinks are a nuisance but I can deal with them. Thoughts? I
don't think I really want to go to Expressions Web Designer.

Thanks for any help.

If the site is hosted on a server that has the FP extensions, then you could work on the site live,
and then just publish a copy to either or both machines as backup.

Thanks. I was hoping to be able to work on changes to it on the
notebook without needing an internet connection. To make the changes
directly to the site makes me be somewhere civilized?

On the original question, if I publish from the site can I make it
work?

Thanks

Yes, you can publish to c:\mywebsite on your Vista machine as long as the live/remote site has the
FP extensions.

To do this use File Menu | Open Site and then File Menu | Publish and enter c:\mywebsite
