Hello:
I am trying to change the storage folder of Windows mail to our
Network server/windows 2000 where all the Outlook mail is stored.
I can't click on the OK box after pointing to the server mail
location. The OK box is greyed out.
Any help is appreciated.

thank you

That's because using a network drive for the storage folder is not a
supported scenario with Windows Mail. You can still do that, by manually
editing the registry entry where the storage folder is stored. However,
I would strongly _not_ recommend it, since you might easily loose your
data should ever any connection problems arise with the network while
you are using Windows Mail.

If you elaborate on your scenario, maybe there is a workaround.

Why would you want to do that?
Windows Mail is a personal email client, not a corporate client.

from XP Microsoft XP is in the network drive.
So Can I import that to windows mail alteast so I can view all my old
messages through Windows mail as well?

Is that data from Outlook, as you wrote, or from Outlook Express (OE)?
If it is from OE, then use File/Import/Messages in Windows Mail - you
should be able to point directly to a folder on a network drive there.
If your data is from Outlook, you can only import that into Windows Mail
if Outlook is installed on the same machine. So, you would first have to
install Outlook, then copy your PST file to your Vista machine and
configure Outlook to use it, and then you can again use the Import
functionality in Windows Mail. HTH

Erm, is that a question? It probably depends on the version of Outlook you
have there; anything up from 2002/XP version should work fine, with older
versions I am not sure. You might try for yourself, using compatibility
modus, maybe, or ask that question in an Outlook newsgroup, with
<microsoft.public.outlook.installation> probably being
your best choice.

I agree...
Windows Mail is like the toy in a box of Cracker Jack.

I would expect businesses to use a more robust email client/system.
