Windows has decided that you do not have enough memory to
run the programs you are running so has increased the
Virtual Memory on your PC. This means Windows has
designated more space on your hard drive toward making
your programs run more efficiently. If you can add more
memory to your PC it would probably be best

Try setting your virtual memory at a static size of double
or more the size of your RAM, assuming you have the
available disk space (ie, if you have 256 MB, try setting
your Virtual Memory at 600 MB). You can also set it so it
starts at that size and have a limit of something higher
if you wnat it to change size. I always set mine at a
static size of 2.5 times the size of my RAM to give
Windows one less thing to think about.

That is not good advice.

The virtual memory paging file exists to compensate for the *lack* of
sufficient RAM to satisfy the total memory requirements of the
computer.

More RAM means less virtual memory paging file and less RAM means more
virtual memory paging file if all other factors are held constant.
The relationship between RAM and paging file is an inverse on.
