I did as you suggested. Hitting the F11 key did nothing at all - the photo
did not fill the screen; the software did not start a slideshow.
When I right mouse click on a photo, Microsoft Picture Viewer launches. I
have a window showing the photo as a large image, menus across the top of the
window (file, edit, view, etc.) and a status bar at the bottom along with the
task bar. There are no buttons for "view as slideshow" and no option in any
menu across the top for a slideshow.
I did check "Fold Options" to see how my folder is tagged. The folder is
listed as a "Photo Album." I also just discovered that if I set Windows
Explorer to show commands on the left side that are available for that folder
or file AND if the folder option is set to "Photo Album," XP lists "view as
slideshow" in the column to the left of the window listing the files in that
folder. If I click on that command, I do get a slideshow of all the photos
in the folder. Finally!
I guess something is screwy with my software since the F11 key does not work
and I don't have the same icons/links available in my desktop version of XP
Professional. I don't have a clue how to fix that.
But, at least I can now view photos as a slideshow.
If you have any additional ideas, I'd be glad to have them. Thanks to all
for your suggestions and troubleshooting.
