VIEW changes from DETAILS to THUMBNAILS after I reset it to DETAILSwin xp home

Using XP home, sp2, auto update.

This problem started about 2 months ago, and I haven't been able to find
anything usable on Google.

Found one site that said that any change was saved to a TMP file and I
thought because I was using CCleaner everyday, clearing TMP files and
others, that was what caused VIEW to change back to THUMBNAILS.

I quit using CCleaner and still, VIEW keeps changing back to
THUMBNAILS. ( I do go to TOOLS / FOLDER OPTIONS and click APPLY TO ALL
FOLDERS)

As previously mentioned, this started about 2 months ago, before that
DETAILS stayed DETAILS.

Apparently I made some change that caused this, but if I did, I don't
have any idea what it could have been.

Bottom line, is there anything I can do to get VIEW / DETAILS to remain
DETAILS in Explorer and all other windows programs.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply Wesley,

I had already changed the BagMRU Size value (5000) last month, that did
not make any difference.

Any other suggestions.

thanks again,

Use my script described below. Go with the option to clear all saved views. If you want Music &
picture folders to have their specialized columns showing, configure them before configuring the
Desktop. If you want ALL folders to have standard details, just configure the Desktop folder.

I've written a script that will apply all the view customizations you can set to all of a folder's
subfolders. Right-click the link below & save to your computer. The zip file contains a readme
file & the script itself.

You can select a folder & configure its view settings, then those are set to be inherited by all
subfolders (you have the option of saving or wiping out current saved views) . You can set a
default for My Pics, another for My Music, and then a more generic default for My Computer. The
inheritance settings are separate from the folder view itself -- for example, you can set a
non-grouped view to be the default inheritance for My Computer, then return My Computer to its
standard 'group by type' layout after running the script without affecting the default view you have
set.

Thanks Keith,

I will try that this weekend when I have some spare time.

Appreciate the help.
