VIDEO FILE WON'T PLAY

PPt 2003/XP

I inserted a video file into a slide and chose "automatically" play. I
cannot get it to play at all, automatically or manually from the PPt window
where one can click "play" to preview the slide. The video file extension is
..mov, and it plays readily with Quick Time when I browse to the file and just
dbl click it. Ideas

Powerpoint cannot play mov files because (nor can media player). You will
either need no convert the file or you could try Quicktime Alternative and
insert a Media Player Classic ActiveX object in your show.

Thanks for your quick reply. Any tips on how to do such a conversion and to
what type of file?

Others here might reply to that - there are programs around to do it. Do a
Google for "mov to mpeg conversion".

You might like to take a look sat the following site. The routines worked
for me when IO had the same problem.
