Video error in Media Center 2005

when i try to play any type of video in media center edition 2005, it gives
me a video error that files are missing or corrupt. also i cannot play a dvd
and i have downloaded a decoder that will work with Media Center. If anyone
can help it wouls be greatly appreciated.

What are the file extensions of the videos that you are trying to play?

Which DVD decoding software do you have and is it really MCE compatible...
use the Decoder Checkup Utility...

I have already run the checkup utility and it is media center compatible

The Checkup Utility will only check for an MPEG2 encoder which will play the
DVR-MS files from MCE.

If you are trying to play MOV files, you'll need Quicktime. If you are
trying to play Divx files, you'll need the Divx encoder. If you're playing
RM files, you'll need Real Player.
