VIDEO DOESN'T SHOW

I have an urgent situation where my boss is trying to play a DVD Video from
his laptop hooked to a projector. The laptop display shows fine, but the
projector image does not show the video although it shows the desktop and
player. Please help ASAP.

Thanks.

Scotty,

I have run into this my self on my laptop. Make sure the video hasn't been
toggled off on laptop keyboard with the FN (or CTRL) and video keys.

All of the display is showing on the projection except the video portion. It
seems like it has something to do with overlays or somethings like that, I
just can't remember. Any more ideas?

If you are using Windows Media Player then go to Tool->Options->Performance
and lower the Video Acceleration setting. You may also like to tweak the
options in the Advanced tab.

Most projector wont be able to show the "Video Overlay". So just unselecting
it in the Advanced section might do the trick.

Scotty,

Double check that the extrenal video hasn't been disabled by accident with
the keypad. The FN + video key (usually in the upper row of keys ie: F4) or
CTRL + F4 can change if the external display works or not. This may have been
inadvertanly toggled off. Look for the little monitor symbol on the keys. Try
this First. The next thing to try is to see if the video "Settings" are
correct (Look for video card software tools). you access these settings thru
"Display Properties". Look for an area that gives you a choice of Primary
Display.... select Auto first, see if that helps. If that doesn't work try
changing it to TV (or however the secondary display is listed) If you don't
get a choice. You may need to make sure the video drivers are installed
correctly.
