video card woe's

Hi everyone,
I have been using an ATI 9800 pro for about 2 years and recently I have
decided it's time to upgrade.
But, with all the changes, PCI-E, Athlon 64's etc etc etc..... I decided to
cut my losses and costs and stick with an AGP card for now as my processor
is running @ 2ghz anyways.
I opted for an Nvidia fx 6600 card at first got it, it sucked, so I RMA'd it
for a refund and got a Sapphire x800 GTO 256 card. Is this a good card?
<it'll be here tomorrow>. As best my judgement can tell, it is 2nd best only
being beat by the 850's.... right?
All the overclocking and such has been specified for the PCI-E cards, are
the AGP cards dog poop? Is there any overclocking/pipe unlocking available
for them? Am I just cutting off my nose to spite my face? Am I better off
just shitcanning my 400mhz 2ghz system and going with an athlon 64 and
spending boo coo bucks upgrading everything? I'm hoping not as I know
upgrading to a 64 bit system intails getting a mobo, ANOTHER video card, a
processor, and windows xp 64 edition.... OUCH thats alot of payolla
concidering my current system with my 9800 gets around 40k in aquamark and
14k in 3dmark......... and I'm assuming that with the x800 card it should at
least go up a bit, right?
Well, any help, info or advice anyone can give me would be greatly
appreciated Thanks guys!!! And, yes, ATI rocks over Nvidia EVERY DAY!!!!!

So you're running your XP2500 as an XP3200 correct? Thats still good enough
for current games. Upgrading your graphics card is the wise choice though I
would have gone for 6800 myself.

You won't be disappointed. Running at higher res, with options on, it's
really show the difference.

Well, just an update guys, the card came, installed in a snap, and, well,
increased performance in BF2 <so far> substantially!!!!!
My benchmark scores are as follows :

9800 x800 6600 <for reference only>

Aquamark3d 39035 45538 28536
3Dmark03 13446 15374 Wasn't in long enough.... lol

I haven't tried any overclocking, tweaking or anything, this is just out of
the box performance increase!! I did install the "trixx" overclocking
program that came with the card, but have yet to use it. We'll see where
that goes ;)
I would strongly suggest if anyone wants to keep their current system but
wants a decent upgrade, this card will do it for you!!!
