Video card driver

The card is a TNT2 from Creative Labs? It is marked ct6870. I can't
find a driver at Creative Labs.

I do find one at Nvidia, but when I try to run it, I get a message
that I don't have the hardware for the drivers.

Suggestions?

You've downloaded the wrong driver. The GeForce driver set doesn't
include the TNT2 - there's a separate download for that.

Support for that card probably stopped a while ago. For
example, my FX5200 doesn't have any recent drivers, and
I have to go back a bit to get one of the older drivers
to use. So I wouldn't expect a driver released today, to include
support for TNT2.

For WinXP, I did a lookup on Nvidia, and I got 71.89 as the
last driver for TNT2. When I looked in the release notes, TNT
and TNT2 aren't in the table of GPUs supported.

You could always verify the VEN and DEV coming from the
card, using a program like Everest, and verify it is
responding correctly.

0029 NV5 [RIVA TNT2 Ultra]

Now, when I looked up CT6870, I seem to be getting

Creative Labs nVidia Riva TNT AGP Video Card 32M

and that would be something like

0020 NV4 [RIVA TNT]

Now, if I go back to a previous driver, like the 61.77 driver,
and look at the release notes for that one, the TNT/TNT2
are actually in the table on page 16.

If that was my card, I'd go backwards in time a bit, and try a
slightly older driver, like the 61.77 .
