Sorry if this has been covered before, but I honestly couldn't find a
reference to it.
I am running Vice City on a system with the following:
Athlon AMD 1.4 Mhz
Windows 98 XP Professional
Nvidia Geforce 4
Soundblaster Live! (not sure if it's a "Gamer" or "MP3" or just straight
"Live!" if that even makes a difference)
DX 9.0
I get sound at the very beginning of the Rockstar screen, but nowehere else.
When when I pick "audio" on the options screen, it is greyed out and states
"no audio hardware". I followed the suggestion of making sure that my sound
card was correctly selected in the device manager. All drivers should be up
to date. I am running an official copy. Note that it ran fine on Windows
98 SE, and I'm only having this problem with the recent XP installation.
Sound is fine on other games. DXDiag says that there are no errors with
Direct sound. Any suggestions?
