Chipset designers VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) are both planning to launch several new products next month, hoping to keep the high-season business momentum going after mid-November with more appealing product specifications.
Each company will launch new chipsets for both Intel and AMD processors. On the AMD side, Via will launch the KT400A, a revision, much like the KT266A was. My guess is that it will improve some of the performance issues with DDR400 memory, as it's actually slower in some cases compared to 333mhz DDR. SiS' new chipset, the SiS746FX, will also be a revision, which will be released due to delays in shipping the K8 chips, and thus a need for something in between.

On the Intel side, Via will launch the P4X600, which will support dual-channel DDR memory. It will also launch two new integrated chipsets (with on-board video), the P4M266A and P4M400. SiS also has similar offerings planned.

The new P4 chipsets should be available later this month, and the AMD ones, late this year, just a bit before Clawhammer is launched.
