Ever since I installed Vi$ta, I could no longer boot from the WinXP
installation CDROM.

How could I solve this problem?

XP Installation CD showed a blank screen after prompting "Setup is
detecting hardware...".

Instruct your BIOS to use your CD drive as the primary boot device.

The setup CD basically freezed after the prompt "Setup is ...". I waited
nearly 5 minutes for the blank screen to change. Should I wait longer?

I would try a different CD (a copy from a friend) and/or
a differed CD drive.

I began to think that WinXP was designed to lose itself when seeing a
newer version of OS than itself.... the disk LED was on since the "Setup
is inspecting...." message.

I said so because when there was no partition in the RAID 0 stripe,
there was no such delay...

Why ask here? You use VISTA now, so ask in one of those groups.

Ask elsewhere

It's about XP behavior and design. No, I am not gonna activate my Vi$ta
until SP1 comes and 64-bit Vi$ta works for everything in my PC.
