Very Slow XP Pro startup

For some reason or another my Windows XP Pro takes about 2 minutes to start after the desktop loads
I have
1 USB Ink-jet connecte
1 USB Digital Printer connecte
1 USB Scanner connecte
1 USB Broadband Modem Connecte

Norton Antivirus, Popup Blocker load at startup
It gets slower every time. I have tried to disable most of the programs at startup using msconfig but it is still the same
Anyone got an idea why this happens?

I found a solution to MY problem. I was memory-limited (@128MB) when the XP critial update came through a couple months ago. I checked Performance and saw I was maxing out memory resources (Commit Charge was > 99%!). I added 256 MB yesterday (384 MB total) and the machine runs like new!...fast load, fast refresh, fast everything! My Commit Charge is now running around 30%+. Good Luck!
