I have just loaded up windows XP onto my new PC and it takes me through a
download of info then trys to find the hard drive even b4 I get wondows to
open .then it still takes 5 min to get the screen fully set up and ready to
go .Some times I do not even get this far and all stops and just starts again
unless I load the CD back into the draw.

Thank you for that update. I couldn't have gotten through the day
without it.

if it is a "new" pc
then you should
double check your
cmos/bios settings.

the cmos/bios are like
the eyes for the o.s.,
in that your hardware
needs to be registered
in the cmos for the o.s.

look in your computer
manual for the instructions
to access the cmos/bios.

afterwards, make sure
your harddrive, ram, cpu,
etc, are recognized and set.

if the cmos seems to have
all your hardware enabled
then the next step is the
check out the performance
of your ram/memory chip(s).

so, if your ram is enabled in the
cmos and the size and speeds
are also set correctly, then the
physical ram chips may be defective.
