vcr format files

I just installed the AIW 9800. And it has a file format called vcr.
I have a small 18.5 meg [smaller than others] commercial I captured. I wanted
to export it to mpg. With 125 gigs free, it says not enough disk space and
aborts the export.

the 1 hour show 265 megs exports just fine to mpg 297 megs.

Is there another program available that can handle vcr files ? Not real
interested in leaving it on 24/7 just to capture that commercial large enough
to export it.

Or maybe someone knows why the library can't export an 18.5 meg vcr file and
has no trouble with a 200+ meg vcr file.

Here's a guess:
The program has a check in place to see how much disk space is left.
If the disk space left is greater than 2^X it could take the number over
the range of whatever internal variable type the program stores the
value as, and misrepresnt it as a 0. I have seen this a few times in
software, it is a common error.

To see if this is the case, you would need to reduce the amount of free
space on your hard disk by a few Gig.
So grab a few large files, copy them multiple times to a temporary
folder, and try again.

Good luck.

I don't think so... That won't solve the problem, just waste time.

try defragging the hard drive first, its worth a try.

For what it's worth I found a solution. Rename the vcr file to mpg then just
play or edit it with whatever you use for an mpg file and don't bother with
export to mpg.
It worked for me. But I'm guessing it won't work the same for large vcr files.
