I was trying to install a program and I got an Error message saying "Can't
find engine "VBScript" for script", also when I try to install iTunes it
gives an error message which says "iTunes could not be installed because
Visual Basic Script (VBScript) is not installed or has been disabled. Make
sure VBScript is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and
personal firewall software, re-register VBScript and then install iTunes".
Can anyone pls help me with this?? I use 2006 version of Norton Anti-Virus.

Norton is doing it job, protecting you from an intrusion.....

VBS is how virii get installed, the hackers' friend.

Sounds like your computer system is quite safe, indeed.

Try disabling NAV temporarily and install iTunes. If that does not help,
reinstall Windows Script engine 5.6 from the following URL.

Download details: Windows Script 5.6 for Windows XP and Windows 2000:

I'm having the same problem but re-installing WSH and registering
VBScript.dll from the command line hasn't solved the problem for me.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
