VB6 on XP - won't initiate

I recently tried to initiate VisualBasic 6.0 but received a message
indicating "DAO350.dll" was not found. I downloaded this file and saved to
the System32 directory, rebooted and tried to initiate VB6 again. I even
downloaded service pack 6, rebooted and retried.

This time I get an "Unexpected error; quitting" message immediately after
the VB6 splash screen appears.

I purchased VB6 from University of Cincinnati as a student and loaded it a
few years back on my Windows98 system. In the past year and a half I've
migrated to XP and moved all the files as well.

Am I missing something basic?

I followed the fix listed in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;189472&Product=vbb
and rebooted. However, this did not help. There is a VBA6 directory within
the VBA directory on my XP, so I copied the DLL files there as well, but that
did not help either.

Do you have MS Office installed, but not yet activated?

I had this problem at my company, when I installed MS Office as an
Administrator and then using Windows (and Office) as a normal user (i.e.
limited rights). Every time it would ask the user to accept the EULA.
Visual Basic would not work in any application (neither Office nor AutoCAD).

I solved it logging in as an Administrator, starting office, activating
it, accepting the EULA, then logging back in as the normal user.
Everything worked fine.

Hope this helps...

Thanks, but at home I am only using one account, which is the Administrator.
Also, MS Office is installed and initiated.
