VB 2005 Express - SQL Server 2000 and Data Sources

Hi,

Probably a very silly question but I've been scratching my head for days now
so...

I'd also like to point out that my knowledge of VB.net is somewhat
limited...

I recently downloaded VB2005 Express (and SQL Server 2005 Express). I also
have an existing SQL Server 2000 install on my network.

I've been playing with VB2005 and would like to bind an existing database
from SQLS2000 however I can't seem to manage it...

I create a new Windows Application project. Then from the database explorer
I right click on "Data Connections" and select "Add Connection". I then get
the "Choose Data Source" window. However the only option relevant to SQL
Server is "Microsoft SQL Server Database File" which unless I have the wrong
end of the stick isn't relevant - I've even tried to browse across the
network on the off-chance that I could find the relevant mdf file with no
luck.

Basically, what am I doing wrong? How do I access an SQLS2000 database from
vb2005? Or is this a limitation of the Express application?

I hope I've managed to explain this well enough.

Any and all advice is gratefully received.

Regards

Chris.
