Various aesthetic and functionality suggestions.

Recently upgraded to Vista. I love it. Just a few suggestions perhaps? Not
that any further development of Vista is most likely happening but what do I
know.

I'm sure some of these issues have been addressed already, I am just
pointing them out again. I apologize in advance if I have made anything seem
redundent.

1) When you mouse over the minimize, maximize buttons they glow. Okay it's
pretty but can we choose to disable or enable this. I would prefer to have it
disabled. I don't want it to glow. I like that it gets brighter, but without
the glow.

2) WMP. In the bottom left, while the player is Maximized, the text showing
you what's currently playing is in white with a huge white glow behind it.
Being that the window, when maximized is Black down there, the text can just
be white WITHOUT the glow. I think that would look much sharper and nicer.

3) Title bar text when window is open but not maximized. The text also has a
blurred cloudy glow behind it. Why not just make the text lighter with a
slight darker shadow behind it, and not an entire Dark Matter cloud? It just
looks tacky.

4) Shortcut arrows over Icons. There's all these 3rd party programs out
there that enable and disable this feature. This should be something the user
can do in Folder Options. It's up to the user if they choose not to be able
to distinguish between the shortcut and actual file but most likely no one is
going to have the actual program file installed on their desktop or in their
start menu, so it wouldn't be necessary, especially on the desktop. This way
it looks nicer.

5) Shut down / log off buttons. I agree with other user's complaints about
how this works. It's not user friendly in terms of a couple mouse clicks
away. It would be nice to just have the option to customize it. Shut Down,
Log Off, Restart or Sleep. Of the four, you could put in place of the two
buttons that are there, any of those.

6) Legacy Icons. Still there are too many old XP style Icons even pre-XP
Icons in the system. Can we just update all of the Icons entirely for a
change. Two examples I found are on the Remote Assistance panel and the
other, when opening a 3rd party application's Open File dialog, it references
the comctl32.dll file which displays the old XP toolbar buttons (Up Arrow,
New Folder and Views). The back button is new but that's it.

7) Hot Tracking. When you hover over the minimize, maximize or close buttons
and the pop up appears to show you in text what button is what, still it
shows no shadow when you have shadows turned on for menus. It would be nice
to have it consistent.

8) Throbber. The cool little animated circle that appears when you log on,
shut down or apply updates in the Welcome screen. It's cute. It's pretty.
Keep it or not. I think it's completely off center. It should be down and in
the middle of the screen. Not off to the left. It just gives a feeling of
unbalance visually.

9) Mouse cursor. The cursor changes to the old XP mouse cursor whenever you
play a video or a game and it is in screen. ????

10) Fine teal edge of windows. There's a very fine teal edge on all the open
windows but not maximized. Make that black.

I'm sure some of these issues have been addressed already, I am just
pointing them out again. I apologize in advance if I have made anything seem
redundent.

Didn't say that. These are just 10 items here, opposed to hundreds more.
Never fear, Windows 7 is just around the corner.

CHILL DUDE!
