valid licensing for a Win2000 Sml Bus Server.

Pat O'Brien

I have a Win2000 Server that is giving me the message:
"License usage for a product licensed in per server mode
has exceeded the maximum number of licenses" and then
Consult the License Manager from Admin Tools folder for
more information" I have users who cannot access the
Server.

I then check "Licensing"(as instructed above) and get --
"Not available in Microsoft BackOffice Small Business
Server. To add client licenses, choose Manage Server
from the Start Menu and select About Small Business
Server." This does not exist.

I looks as if we have 10 active valid licenses, however,
thru passport we have confirmed that we have 20 valid
licenses for this facility. I do not know how to modify
my installation.

I do NOT know where to go. I have no other documentation.

Sincerely,
Pat O'Brien

SBS by default comes with 5 CAL's. If additional CAL's were purchased then
you should have received a floppy disk with the licenses file on it. SBS
needs that floppy to validate the additional users. You may want to look
around and see if you can find it, otherwise try calling MS Support.
