UsrMgr.exe problems with Service Pack 4

J

James Gregory

This is my first post, so if I've submitted this question
to the wrong group, please accept my apologies.

I am using a Windows 2000 workstation with service pack 3.
I am using usrmgr.exe on the workstation to administer the
user accounts on the server.

This all worked fine until I installed Windows service
pack 4.

After this, I could run the user manager program, but when
I tried to view the properties of a user, I got the
following error:

"The following error has occured:

The user properties cannot be edited at this time

Array bounds are invalid."

I uninstalled service pack 4 and it works fine now.

I've searched Microsofts knowledge base and done a general
Internet search, but I can find no information.

Any help would be appreciated,

Regards,

James.

You may want to use the local users and groups snap-in rather than the older
usrmgr.exe.

You can open the snap-in from the mmc.exe or from computer management.

Cheers Shawn. I would do this, but I am using the
usrmgr.exe on my local win2K machine to administer the
domain user permissions.

I looked in the windows help and it mentioned something
about the active directory users and computers snap-in, so
I'm currently looking into this.

Thanks for the info.

Regards,

James.

Run the adminpak.msi from a server. That will install ADUC.
