Using windows mail in vista to send and receive AOL mail

I set up windows mail to send and receive AOL mail using AOL's instructions.
I have no problem receiving or writing new messages but cannot get a message
to send. I always get an STMP server error whenever I try to send a
message. I've checked my setup multiple times and a final problem. Is
anyone else using the setup and if so are you having any problems, what is
your STMP setup?

Thanks,
Mark

You will need to post the exact error message.
By the way, it's SMTP, not STMP.

Are you trying to set up Windows Mail using an AOL email account or
with some other email account? If the former I am not sure you can
as it seems AOL blocks Port 25.

I don't have any expertise with IMAP problems.
Somebody else jump in here.

Some of the messages in your Outbox Folder could not be copied to your Sent
Items Folder. Your message could not be uploaded to the IMAP server. The
server refused to accept it. Subject 'Test text', Account: 'AOL', Server:
'IMAP.AOL.COM', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Mailbox Sent Items cannot
be appended to', Port: 143, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCCD2

The text above is the error message I received. I don't know why you
couldn't see it the first time. It shows up in the post in the newsgroup.
Hope you can help with this problem it's very frustrating
