using iCalendar

We use Outlook 2002 and Exchange 2000 and I am unable to activate the iCalendar option. I need this so that I can send myself appointments to my Outlook at home for appointment that effect the family schedule.

You shouldn't need to. Exchange should automatically convert the meeting
request to iCalendar when it sends it to your Internet address.

And the Outlook and Exchange versions are? The newsgroup interface you are
using apparently does not quote earlier messages in the thread, making your
latest message so short on detail that you risk not getting the answer
you're looking for. Please take the time to quote the original message.

Unfortunately, the emails arrive at home as text rather than calendar
appointments that I can accept or reject.
