Using ERD

M

ms

This post is related to my earlier thread about rebooting.

I don't have a running OS so can't make my own set of ERD disks.
\
I downloaded a set from bootdisk.com

In one of the data pages I saved on using ERD, someone mentioned that a
generic set of ERD will not work with a given machine, when the OS creates
the ERD, unique settings are created.

Is this true? I'm not expert, but what would be so different that I
couldn't reset the system again?

Advice?

Hello ms,

Moving disks between computers is not recommended because problems can arise
if the disk controllers on the two systems are incompatible or are configured
differently. However, if the two computers have the same configuration, you
might be able to identify and correct the problem.

In reading the saved data, another question comes up.

The data assumes the presence of W2K setup disks along with the ERD. I
don't have the setup disks.

Cancel this thread, the bootdisk.com disks result in setup disks, not ERD
