using cmd.exe

Are you typing the full file name ie: fredix.exe

I type the program name, and I get the following:
'fredix' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I've checked my path, and this program's directory is on

it...and the .exe file is in that directory. Any ideas??
