Using B Roll - (Seperate Audio from Video)

I would like to use some of my clips as b roll to accompany just the audio
portion of another clip. Is it possible to seperate the video and audio from
a clip and use them seperately?

For example, use narration from one clip, but use other clips as the video
portion you see during the narration.

Thanks very much in advance for the help!

In Windows Movie Maker....
To save only the audio track of a video clip...
drag the video to the "Audio/Music" track.
Then go to...File / Save Movie File / ect...ect......

This will result in a .wma audio file. Be sure
to drag the clip all the way to the left on the
timeline or you will have dead air at the
beginning.

Then re-import the .wma file and use it like
any other sound file.

As for the video...just right click / mute the
audio track and add your new audio choice
to the Audio/Music track.

Yes you can do this. First of all, make sure you are using a timeline instead
of a storyboard for your vidoe. Next, look beside your timeline, to the left
and there is your track for video. There should be a minus sign beside where
it says video if it is a plus sign, click on it to reveal another audio
track. Take the video that you only want muic or audio to play , and drag and
drop it from the video track down to the audio track. this will eliminate the
video but leave you with the audio, and you can add the video that you want
to play onto the now empty video track. Good luck, and let me know if I be of
further assistance- D F 6
