Using air duster sprays

When using an air duster can, I always seem to get liquid out as well a air.
Is this propellant, or what? Is it going to harm the PC or anything?
And yes I did shake it a lot! It does say extremely flammable on the can!

Are you holding the can too close to whatever it is you're trying to clean off?
If you hold the can too close you'll get condensation.

The liquid changes state into a gas, it is the propellant,
the duster "air" itself. It's simply that it's leaving the
can too fast... providing you dont' get too much of it on
anything which may freeze the part, it should evaporate and
not be a problem.

It's not propellent. It's atmospheric water condensing on the air
stream. As it's air is compressed, it releases a lot of heat. Not
surprisingly, as it expands, it will absorb a lot of heat. Cold air
hits moisture in the air, it's going to condense and get carried
along. That's why it's recommended that you do air dusting in short
bursts to keep this to a minimum.

Do *NOT* shake it... Also don't tilt the can too much.

Notice how cold the can gets when you're spraying? A sudden cold rush
of spray onto a room temperature or warmer part can cause condensation
and freezing. I find that spraying in short bursts instead of a
continuous barrage lessens problems.

Thanks people. My PC gets very dusty - stuck on the blades of the fans. It's
a b*gger to get off!

Careful use of an artist's paint brush does the trick. Not the lazy person's
way to do it but cheaper and more effective. If you're hooked on spray cans
you can always give it a couple of short blasts afterwards.

Listen to Noozer. I've always been told NOT to shake the can as well,
for those exact reasons.

All the cans of this stuff I've ever used indicated one was NOT to
shake the can. Also, the cans are not designed to be used in any
orientation other than upright.
