I have a client that is using Outlook 2003. She is using a pop3 connecion for
her email srevice. When she opens a new mail message and clicks the to
button, she is not able to see the contacts that are in her contacts folder.
She receives the following message:

"The address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened; It may have been moved or
deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove
this folder from the outlook address book, see microsoft office outlook help."

How do give her permission to this folder?

She has not properly configured her Outlook Address Book service to use the
contacts folders properly. She should remove the Outlook Address Book
service from the mail profile, stop and restart Outlook, then add the OAB
service back in, once again stopping and restarting Outlook. She'll then be
able to enable as address books any contacts folders she has.
