This is by design. Once any additional user accounts have been
created, the built-in Administrator account will no longer be displayed
on the Welcome Screen. The Administrator account has not been deleted,
nor has it really "disappeared." This is a default security feature.

People who knew no better and started out using the built-in
Administrator account for daily use frequently panic when they run up
against this situation when they finally get around to creating other
user accounts.

Yes. And you cannot set up XP without creating an account (you can't skip
that part).
And, the only way to remove all but Administrator is to log *in* as
Administrator.
And in Home you cannot do that without being in safe mode.
