Useless Microsoft LifeCam

I bought Lifecam which is now sitting on the top of my monitor. When I feel the
need I can use that as a mirror in that I can see myself and the surroundings
qute nicely but my distant family is unaware of my ugly face - you might count
that as a blessing but they do not like it and keep trying to get me to buy a
Mac as I would then be able to communicate with them properly.

Funny the day I got it I made contact with my youngest son in London but then
after that there was no such connection to be had - I do see them but they
somehow have no picture from Australia.

I am running XP pro SP3 but it was the same with SP2 when I on the very first
occasion had an interchange of Pictures. Then as now I was running a D-Link
Router 504G. I also now run a Netgear Router but that can be cut out by just
connecting my computer straight to the D-Link.

Oh by the way the microphone on the camera does work as they can hear me so I
suppose I got something for my money and trouble.

Was the proper microsoft software ever installed.Try going
to:http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=ICE
Select youre product,set the rest of the options to download...Microsoft
doesnt make a whole lot of pc hardware,but what they do make is generally
about the best.....

LifeCams will normally work if you also configure the cam correctly
into the "communication" software correctly.

Which software are you using the send the video out from your system?
