Use Macintosh OS formated portable hard disk in window XP OS

I got this 2.5" hard disk taken out from an apple computer. I bought a usb
casing to put it in and want to use it as a portable drive but when i plug in
to my Window XP OS computer, it cannot appear in " My Computer " ? Anyone
help me in this???

You will have to partition and format on a Win9x system. XP does not have the
means to partition a removeable storage device.

You need software for XP that will read the Mac OS disk format.

I used MacDrive years ago, it worked well.

John, could you please clarify your assertion for me? In going through
my own computer blues, I discovered the option to install WinXPpro to,
as well as partition, my USB-connected HD. I haven't yet tried it, but
if the OS offers the choice,...? And, to me, a USB-connected drive is
a removable storage device, or am I missing something here?
