Problem with portable USB device

I plugged a USB 2.0 mini 1GB drive into a USB 2.0 connection on my PC
(windows XP). The device is recognized, can open it up with Explorer, or
from my computer, but cannot use it because it is write protected.
Formatting doesn't work either. How does one unwrite protect a USB portable
Drive? Trying to fix this using Disk Management does not work either,
although the drive is listed there. All my other USB 2.0 devices work
properly. Thanks

Look for a little switch through a small opening in the body
of the mini-drive.

Thanks, I found it with a magnifying glass. All is well
