"Use Current" will not reset home page

About two or three months ago, I spontaneously and not through any action on my part got a "new" default home page (res.//mshp.dll/index.html#22776). Since that time I have been unable to utilize the Internet Option "Use Current" to reset to my preferred home page. Each time I reboot (Gateway running XP Media Center Edition), the unwanted "default" home page appears. I am running I.E. 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 with upgrades SP1; Q832894;Q330994.

Any ideas about how to get the Use Currrent functioning again?

you have a browser hijacker in your system. you clicked on
something that popped up right? get ad-aware
lavasoftusa.com or spybot at safer-networking.org and
scan and clean your system.
remember to update after install. then scan.
any programs that may no longer work on spyware hosts can
be recovered.
