USB printing support fails to install

Hi,
I am trying to connect a Lexmark Z13 printer. When I
connect the printer via the USB cable, windows detects a
new hardware and wants to install USB printing support but
fails due to some incorrect file. I discovered that no
matter what USB device i try to install, it comes up with
the same problem. What is wrong? Can someone help?

Hi Marco,
I have done that but it still comes up with an error
message telling me that the data is invalid. This also
happens with other USB devices. There must be something
else not working. It seems that it has nothing to do with
the actual driver file. It must be some routine in windows
that is not working. I will try a repair windows from the
boot disks. See what what happens. Do you have any other
suggestions?
