USB Not Recognized on Zire 71?

When I try to Hot Sync my Zire 71 Plam Pilot I get the yellow box reading "
USB Device Not Recognized one of the USB deviced attached to this computer
has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in
solving this problem, click this message" When I click the message it tells
me unknown device and no drivers are installed. I am using a USB cable that
works on 2 other computers and allows me to hot sync. DO you have any
suggestions?

There is some weird thing going on with onboard USB ports. I've seen
this half a dozen times in the last week. Even my son had the same exact
problem. Whether its a new virus or due to an auto update I cant tell.
My son had to add a PCI USB card to get USB.
