USB memory card reader problem

i got a new card reader ill find the link for everyone its from ebay in hong kong


so its a little device i plugged it into my usb port
straight away windows xp piccked it up and installed the drivers

on the bottom rhs i get a green arrow with a disk thing 'safely remove hardware'
this is obv needed to remove the thing safely

so i pluged in my 32mb mmc card fits in, then i click on my computer 'removable drive (H:)
then i get the message 'please inset a disk into drive H:"

but my memory card is in there but it wont pick it up


does anyone have any ideas?
do i need to format the thing first?

i mean ive tried 2 cards both have stuff on them im sure!

ive not dealt the this sort of thing be4 so my knowledge is limited any help greatly appreciated!

if its all installed then you should be able to pick them up straight away

USB problem

Unplug it , put the card in and plug it back into the same usb port.
If you have istalled it more then once you may need to uninstall first.
USB is not the most stable of things even on XP.

Always try and use the same port for the device you attach.

thanks just tried that but still no result!

im very very sure the usb device is set up properly in xp

just made a breakthrough

i managed to get my 512mb pqi card to work

the other two are nokia make

prehaps my card reader only picks up certain brands?
well wht did i expcet for a fiver!
