XP Pro, patches are current. Have had problems when removing USB devices
(thumb drive, digital camera, IPod). The last system error shows the
following:

Error code 00000035, parameter1 84b65760, parameter2 00000000, parameter3
00000000, parameter4 00000000. I've looked but not found any good
information how to correct this problem.

Did you stop the USB device prior to removal using the "Safely Remove
Hardware" icon in the system tray...or did you just yank the device out? Do
you have the device set to utilize delayed writes?

Good catch...I should have mentioned that before. All devices are "ejected"
prior to removal. I haven't yet set any device to utilize delayed
writes...will have to look to where to set that property.

Thanks for the clue on where to look.
