urgent help needed?

i have pent4 2.8ghz 766ram 500h/d loaded with xp pro sp3 .it will accept
printer by lpt1 parralel conection ,but will not recognise any printers by
usb connection.it seems to have stopped plug and play.have tried uninstalling
everything and reinstalling but with no success. have been in device manager
and it says plug and play is working fine.have tried updating every driver in
device manager,but still no printer will work via usb .PLEASE

Download the chipset installation utility for youre MB chipset,the utility
shows windows how to configure USB.
