I am upgrading my AGP video card, what is the proper
procedure? Do i uninstall my current video card driver
then shut down my system, install the new card, turn my
computer on and then install the drivers from the cd? Do
i have to uninstall the old driver?

Hello

Best thing to do is remove the old card and also uninstall
the drivers ok. Then install the new card and instead of getting
the drivers from the cdrom go to the maker of your card website
and get the most current drivers.

First, get the latest drivers for your new card from the manufacturer's web
site.

Second, go into Device Manager > Display Aadpters and unistall the drivers,
for the old card.

Third, remove old and install new card.

Fourth, reboot and the Windows hardware wizard should see the new hardware
and either install generic drivers, specific drivers if it has any, or ask
you where the CD is. ither point to the CD or the folder to which the
downloaded drivers were put.
