My organisation is planning to upgrade its Windows 2000 Active Directory
Servers to 2003 in the near future. Licenses have already been purchased;
there's just the implementation to worry about.

Are there any pitfalls in doing such an upgrade?

The current plan is to keep the existing servers, but first we need to move
Exchange off one of them onto a new dedicated machine.

it depends if you are about to do an in-place upgrade, insert Windows Server
2003 CD into current DCs and upgrade. Or if you add an additional server
with Windows Server 2003.

Have a look on this KB,
How to upgrade Windows 2000 domain controllers to Windows Server 2003:

Thanks. We are running Exchange 2000 at the moment on one of the domain
controllers, but the plan is to migrate that to another dedicated Exchange
2003 server at the same time, if not sooner.
