Upgrading from Frontpage 2000 to Frontpage 2002

Bob

I currently have Frontpage 2000 installed on my current
computer that is running Windows 98. However, in a week
or so my new system will arrive that will have Windows XP
Home installed on it. I want to purchase the upgrade to
Frontpage 2002, but I'm not sure if I can do this. Do I
first load Frontpage 2000 on the new system with Windows
XP and then purchase the upgrade version of Frontpage 2002
or am I forced to have to purchase the entire version of
Frontpage 2002 to load on the new system? Not knowing
anything about XP, I'm not sure if it will recognize the
old version or be compatible with Frontpage 2000? If
anyone can answer these questions, I would appreciate it!

Thanks,
Bob

I had an old version of FP 98 that I never installed or
used. I recently purchased the FP 2002 upgrade and
installed it on my XP Pro laptop without installing the
FP 98 software. When the installation checks for an
existing version to upgrade, you just have to put in your
FP 98 cd for a second and then put back in the FP 2002 cd
to complete the install. Sorry I can't advise re:
backward compatibility as I am just starting to use FP
for the first time. I've seen some info on this on the
support site, but I didn't read it closely. Definitely
good to test thoroughly before totally cutting over...

FP2000 works just fine under Windows XP, however see the other reply, as you
don't need to install FP2000 to install a upgrade FP2002 upgrade version.
