upgrade vista home to vista ultim

I can't run remote connect with my vista home premium, I need to upgrade to
vista ultimate; just curious if anybody knows for that type of upgrade - in
retail store one can find only upgrade from XP ($280). Is it out there any
less expensive way to do this type of upgrade, or even better is it anything
that I can do to make home edition able to do remote connection? Thank you

You might try a free replacement such as CrossLoop.

The upgrade edition in the store is not just for XP. The same upgrade
edition is what you use to upgrade from VHP to Ultimate. However, you can
also use the Anytime Upgrade. See:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/anytime-upgrade-overview.aspx

You can also click on the upgrade link in System Information.

Why not? Works perfectly well here on Home Premium. Why do you think an
upgrade to Ultimate will suddenly make it work?

Carey, why don't you ask him why it doesn't work instead of just telling the
OP how to spend more money? If it doesn't work at the moment (and it should
because it works here perfectly OK in Home Premium) why would upgrading have
any effect?

When I read the OP's question, I assumed the OP wanted to remote into his
Home Premium, but only the Business and Ultimate versions can do that. I did
the anytime upgrade from Home Premium to Ultimate so that I could remotely
access my computer, amongst other reasons I wanted to upgrade.

Then don't bother to upgrade - use TeamViewer - it's free for personal use.

I try to make it work, it didn't. Somewhere on site it says that Home Premium can't connect remote. So, I was under impression that the upgrade is the only way out. Can you please confirm that you have Home premium and you were able to connect remotely to other computer with no problems. (by the way, the other computer is XP powered, is it maybe that reason why I can't make the connection?)
Thank you and thank you to all other guys who are trying to help

I confirm that I can use remote connection FROM my Vista Home Premium
machine TO my XP Pro machine.....may be you have XP Home edition? (Don't
know whether that would have an effect...)
