Upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional Fails [loops]

When I try to upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional, the
installation stops at 29 minutes [while it is
installing 'SiS M650'

The machine then re-boots - restarts the installation to
the point the it tries to install SiS 650 - then cycle
starts over.

The computer in question is a Compaq Presario 3000 which
came with XP home installed.

Dave,

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having a similar
problem. My system doesn't restart, but seems like it is
stuck in a loop during the "Installing Windows" step of
the process. I am running on a Compaq Presario 5000.
