upgrade from Korean Home to English XP version

I just bought a laptop in Korea and it has the Korean version of home on it.
I was able to find a version of English XP pro. In order to put it on the
laptop, can i upgrade from Korean home to English XP, or do i have to
reinstall from scratch? If i have to reinstall, will i lose all programs
installed on teh comp by the seller? The computer came with a recovery disk
with all drivers etc on it...will there be anything else i need to do this?

Thanks.

You will have to reinstall from scratch. There is no cross-language
upgrade path.

The drivers will still be useful/necessary, although there's always a
chance they may miss English UI for the installation.

You will effectively lose the programs already installed.

No.

Yes.

Yes.

Once the English XP version has been installed, the Korean Recovery CD
is of little use.

As our answers indicate, what you have before will make no difference as
you are going to wipe out everything you had before, so you make your
purchase based on what you want now. You will have to buy a full retail
version as no upgrade option is available.

You should backup all your data, and make sure you have copies of
driver disks available. You may be able to d/load these subsequently,
but we have no idea of your computer configuration so can't say rpecisely.

No way - there is no upgrade possible when mixing different languages.
