Upgrade form Office 2000 Premium

I have Office 2000 Premium on an older XP machine and just purchased a new PC
with Vista 64-bit.

Is it possible to upgrade this product if I load it onto my new machine?

You mean install Office 2000 on Windows Vista?
While you can do that, it is not recommended as Outlook 2000 is not fully
compatible with Windows Vista and no longer supported either. There are some
issues you'll encounter which you can work around and others you cannot.

Depending on your needs, consider using Outlook 2003 SP2 or higher instead
or switch to Windows Live Mail. If you still insist on using Outlook 2000,
make sure you install it in Corporate/Workgroup mode to work around most of
the issues.

You dont need to install the older version in order to upgrade, you simply
need the older version cd available when you install the upgrade cd, to
point to and verify during the upgrade process (ie you swap the cd's when
you get the msg unable to locate a qualifying product)
PS Insure any Office Trial is uninstalled first
