Upgrade activation

I am sure someone has had this problem, and MS must be sick of it. I upgraded
from XPSP2 to Vista Home. After three hous of fiddleing, right at the end of
the config process, Vista blue screened on me, no way to stop it. So I had to
do clean install. Now all ok of course, except that I can not activate, nor
can I generate a support request. I need a process which says, whats your old
XP code, and whats your new Vista code, then activate. I have 7 proper XP
licenses, but I will not pay full Vista price, only the upgrade, its simply
daft, security gone crazy.

Thanks

Question?
How did you do a clean install?
Did you boot from the DVD, leave the KEY field blank and walk through the
warning screens?

The Fix.

With a clean install of Vista working, insert your Vista DVD, launch setup
and put in your upgrade key.
You can choose either upgrade or Custom install and after this install you
should be able to activate.
