Updates

Apparently my computer is set for automatic updates. Today I went to turn
it off (I was going out) and it kept saying it was installing one of two
updates, and not to turn off the computer, that it would turn off
automatically. When I got home, it was still saying that. So I turned it
off manually. Should I change from automatic updates to non-automatic? And
if so, how? TIA.

Hi Joy,

You might consider having it set to notify you, but not to install
automatically - it will prompt you, and you can choose to install when it is
convenient for you.

You might want to go the the Windows XP update site and scan , to see if you
still need any updates. You can also from there, click on the automatic
updates section, and it will show you how to do the above.
