I started getting "no internet connection" error messages
when I tried to do a manual update. I uninstalled MSAS &
reinsatlled it again. As of now my manual updates are
working again. After reinstallation I updated to
difinitions 1701.

Definitions 1701??? I thought definitions were at 5699, you are mistaking
some other program. If you are getting "No Internet Connection Error", open
Internet Explorer, click File > and ensure that work off line is not
checked.
